How to book a ride in the Uber app

Uber want to be the bridge between riders who are needing a lift or to travel to a destination safely, and drivers who want to provide secure travel to a destination for a fee. This is why they created the app with top of the line technology, messaging servers and GPS tracking, to ensure you can ask for a driver, speak to your driver and know how far away they are to your current location. Step 1: The rider (you) can open the app and be immediately presented with your current location and a destination "Where to?" box, where you can search by postcode, street name or milestone services like train stations or notable places in that area. You will then be given the best address results based on your search. You can also enter this manually for extra precision in a busy area or if you're visiting a new place for the first time! You will be given a trip option for vehicle size, estimated drop-off time and finally a price. Choose your desired vehicle size from: UberX, Uber Pool, Uber Comfort, Uber Exec, Scooters or Uber WAV. Step 2: The rider (you) is then matched with a nearby driver after sending out the request to local drivers in your area. Once a rider accepts your travel request, you are given an estimated time of arrival as well as the driver location. Step 3: The rider (you) is able to verify the car number plate, driver and correct Uber travel request all by the on-screen display on the app. Once you and the driver are able to verify your name, destination and car registration, you are ready to buckle in and go! The driver will then start the trip. During the ride, you can look at the driver's reviews, current awards, some facts about them and also some interesting stats about their Uber career thus far including trips completed. The app also allows the driver to be given turn-by-turn directions. Step 4: The rider (you) reaches the destination with the help of the driver, and they drop you off securely and safely in a place where you feel comfortable. Once the trip has ended, both the rider and driver can leave ratings for each other of 1 - 5 stars. Riders can also tip their driver, give them awards and also compliments through the app, based on their service experience.
